OPTIONAL FINISHES
On request, our felts can be treated with feature-enhancing special finishes.
- Water-Resistant
The use of water-repellent agents based on natural materials acheives a beading effect.
- Sweat-Resistant
Our materials are sweat-proof through the use of selected HIGH-TECH dyes, which are tested by our quality assurance laboratory using synthetic sweat solutions according to DIN EN ISO 105-E04.
- Non-Fade
Since our materials are often used for dressing shop windows, it is a pre-requisite that the materials have a high resistance to fading. The test is performed under continuous exposure to light according to DIN 105-B02.
- Tarnish-Prevention (ASIII)
It is possible to treat the felt with a finish for use as a lining for cutlery or coin boxes to bind the discolouring air particles and prevent tarnishing.
- Flame-Resistant
Decorative materials must meet certain safety standards for use at exhibitions and in photo laboratories or television studios. Our felts meet this required standard; the test is performed according to DIN 54336 fire performance.
- Shrink-Resistant
To avoid the typical felt property of "Shrinking" when treated with steam, on request, we can treat our material with a shrink-resistant finish in accordance with DIN 53894 T.2.
- Moth-Resistant
On request, we can treat the wool felt with a moth resistant finish to give a much longer life.
- Non-Slip
For use as underlay, or whenever the material should not slip, we treat the felt with an anti-slip substance.
- Saliva-Resistant
Most of our high quality felts are suitable for use in children´s toys. The resistance to saliva is tested by our quality assurance laboratory according to DIN 53160.
